Perlite is added to potting soil for a few additional but very important reasons.
The first has to do with improved root growth. When added to heavier soil, the light and airy white kernels are incredibly adept at keeping dirt from compacting, making it easier for roots to expand and grow.
Not only does perlite make root growth easier, but it also opens up channels in the soil for water to reach the roots of plants at a quicker pace.
Perlite can also absorb three to four times its own weight in water, which can be incredible help to plants when temperatures soar and drought can cause plants to dry out quickly.
Hydroponic Systems
Fill container with Hydroponic Perlite.
Set plant at conventional height so that the root system is reinforced.
For even greater performance, use fertigation sleeves filled with Hydroponic Perlite.
Container Plants
Mix a ratio of 30% Hydroponic Perlite with 70% peat moss.
Saturate mixture with water.
Place plant in mixture at original depth.
Hydroponic Perlite can be used to facilitate better drainage in humid environments.
Root Cuttings
Add full strength Harvest Hero Hydroponic Perlite into trays or cutting flats.
Water well, place cuttings into trays and put trays in a shaded area.
Cover tray in a white plastic trash bag to retain moisture.
Check to remove any falling or mildewing cuttings to prevent contamination.
Field | Garden Grown Plants
Harvest Hero Hydroponic Perlite can be mixed directly into field/garden soils to create a porous, well-drained soil which allows roots to breathe and stop soil compaction.
Mix 10-20% Harvest Hero Hydroponic Perlite into your garden soil to provide adequate oxygen to the roots.
